Hard work of pupils pays off on GCSE results day

Despite the challenging new grading system, pupils across the borough saw their hard work pay off this year at GCSE results day.

The Succeed team visited Highlands School to hear from some of the students who achieved astonishing results, including Meghan Byrne, who scored 7 A*s and 3 grade 9s. Watch the video to get the highlights from our visit.

Meghan Byrne is also a talented swimmer who swims competitively for London and have swam nationally and internationally. She became the first swimmer from the borough of Enfield to receive the Wilkinson Senior Sword in 2013.

Bruce Goddard, Highlands School’s head teacher said “I’m so proud of what our students and our staff have achieved. We aim to ensure that the life chances of our students are maximised and these results prove that this is exactly what we do.”
