The New Garfield School

New starters at Garfield Primary School will be attending one of the flagships of Enfield’s School Expansion Programme.

The School in New Southgate has celebrated opening of their spectacular new multi-million pound building. An additional 210 local children will be able to attend the expanded Garfield School.

The new building has improved the learning environment with many outstanding facilities; more spacious classrooms with an ICT suite library, music room and several specialists teaching spaces. It is a vast improvement on the previous building which is being demolished to create more play space and landscaping.

Pupil and staff are delighted at the excellent new facilities provided and celebrated in style with a range of events to mark the completion of the first phase of the construction programme. The new school was officially opened with the release of over 200 balloons. Each balloon was tagged to represent a pupil at the school. The excited pupils will find out in September who has won the ‘balloon race’. Anyone finding a tagged balloon is asked to return it to the school. Pupil’s whose balloon has travelled the furthest will receive a prize.
